What is the USMLE?
The USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Exam) is the required exam for all students wishing to do their residency in USA Hospitals. The USMLE is divided into 3 parts.
USMLE I: is the basic science exam that covers the content of the first 2 years of a US Allopathic medical school curriculum.
USMLE II: is a clinical science exam that covers the content of 3rd and 4th years of a US Allopathic medical school curriculum.
USMLE III: is a patient management exam usually taken during the first year of residency that tests clinical judgment.
The USMLE is a self-study program that uses in-depth audiovisual materials and a variety of accompanying text materials.
NB: In order to attain your certification to be granted residency in the USA, a TOEFL score is required.

If you are interested in doing your residency in United States hospitals, we have all the information and materials to help you advance your medical career. The USMLE is on a self-study basis and there are no formal classes. Therefore Edutech offers our USMLE students access and use of the USMLE materials in our on-site study labs.
Online Resources: KAPLAN International also offers students access to valuable online Q-Bank.
Q-Bank is a database of practice questions which allows you to create customized practice tests, receive immediate on-screen feedback, and review detailed explanations of correct and incorrect answers. Q-Bank is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Actual Test:
Currently the official International USMLE test is not offered in Panama. Most students travel to the USA itself to write the test. However, Panama has recently been placed on the candidacy list for the opening of 2004 test centers.

USMLE I $2150.00 Duration: 6 months
USMLE II $2150.00 Duration: 6 months
USMLE III $2150.00 Duration: 6 months
USMLE Extension $450.00/month
What is the NCLEX?
The NCLEX (National Council Licenser Examination) is required to obtain a license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the USA.
All States require you to pass the NCLEX-RN exam to obtain a license, however, you must contact the State board of nursing in the state in which you would like to work to learn more about the specific requirements of each State.
NB: In order to be granted your certification and practice nursing in the USA, a TOEFL score is required
